"Oh wow! Your really feel it. I'm very active coaching a cheerleading team. With scoliosis, I do need to relax all those tense muscles in my back. This massager does it for me".

Monica Allen, Cheerleading Coach, Key West

Back Pain - ScoliosisScoliosis is a common postural deviation, a lateral curvature of the spine. It can be congenital from birth, a result of muscle imbalances, a degenerative condition with aging, or idiopathic with no known origin. 23 out of every 1000 individuals have scoliosis, according to idiopathicscoliosis.com. This means that in New York City alone, there are 368,000 people with scoliosis, 5,750,000 with scoliosis in the U.S., and 143,750,000 worldwide. In more than 80% of the cases the cause is unknown or idiopathic, not congenital. Severe cases requiring surgery account for 1 out of 23 of these cases. Mild and moderate cases result in a complex of problems due to the compensations to structural integrity by many muscles and connective tissues throughout the body.

For scoliosis, massage is adjunctive to stretching and exercise for pain management. If a patient could perform their own deep back massage, they would save many physical therapy appointments and expensive therapies for relief. The MD4 massage tool provides the massage these patients need. All individuals with scoliosis can benefit by using a deep tissue self massage device. See research. See back pain.
